Independent

The humming bird is here again,
suspending in the air,
just to suckle the nectar from the flowers
that it only has seen.
It flutters its wings several times,
humming all the way,
to get its daily bread, as they say.
No, it doesn't have to depend on another humming bird
nor a Humming Bird Corporation
to give it its daily ration.

I see a sparrow hiding under a vine,
looks like it already had its fill,
pecking and picking here and there.
No, its food was not provided by a Sparrow Inc.,
neither will it awake in the morning
thinking what should I do next.
It has a purpose, it has resources and importantly,
it does not depend on a company
where to the Big Sparrow.Gov  funds the money.

None of them did study abcd
leave alone get a Ph.D.
None of them are at the mercy
of another of their species
to provide them their daily bread,
to make them a reason to wake up,
or, make them feel themselves as helpless !
